David Scro and Paul Martino are principals of Country View Properties in Melvile. Scro and Martino are second generation builders with 20 years of experience in developing single family and town house homes across Long Island. The duo work with each community from beginning to end of each development project.

Country View Properties has built all styles of residential housing. Its current residential community, Country View Estates in Smithtown, is slated to open this Spring. Country View Estates, a 42 unit senior development, offers residents about 1,200 square feet of living space. The exterior of each building features cultured stone and brick with wrap around porches.

"Twenty percent of eight units will be set aside for affordable housing, which will be the first 'for sale' affordable housing development ever built in Smithtown, " said Scro, who is also vice president of the company. "There is definitely a need for senior housing that offers comfort and convenience and a maintenance free life style, Scro said.

The homes are well designed and offer many of the same amenities as single family home without the huge overhead and tax bills, noted Martino, who is also president of the company. "We are offering Smithtown residents the opportunity to stay in the community they helped build but without the up keep and expense of a single family home, " said Martino.
